The Waterside School opened with twenty-seven students, a handful of teachers and an ambition bold and timely. Now spanning six grades, with one hundred students and a teaching faculty of twenty-three, the School has grown larger, stronger and better. The dream of all that might be has become a working reality and the successes on every front have provided fitting testament to the worthiness and sustainability of the effort, the promise of the children served and the herculean efforts of all committed and involved. Providing both evidence of all that has been accomplished and inspiration for all that will follow –

• Members of Waterside's Class of '06 earned admission and scholarships to the area's finest independent schools – Brunswick School, Convent of the Sacred Heart, Greenwich Academy, Stanwich School, KLHT et al.

• In 2005-06, more that $2.3 million was raised in direct support of the School's operation and in support of the School's future expansion

• Collaborations with a diverse and dynamic set of partners – The American Ballet Theatre, The First Tee Foundation, The Urban Education Exchange, The Rensselaerville Institute, Yale University Athletic Department – have offered and will promise additional opportunities for enrichment, advancement and exposure

• Corporate partners of recognized name have invested directly with financial support of both scale and duration

• A broad and growing constituency of invested individuals and foundations has been engaged and involved

• And, most important, daily, the lessons of the classroom, the accompanying lessons of character and the requisite lessons of the heart have found both stern test and reassuring proof

All that has been accomplished is impressive.
All that will be achieved will be more so.
