After School and Summer

‘Side Notes

The ‘Side Notes is Waterside’s jazz band. Students are encouraged to sign up regardless of experience.  The program includes small group instrument lessons as well as band practice in preparation for performances throughout the year.

Musical

The summer theater program allows every student to find the joy of live theater and fosters a love of the process and long term investment to create something that everyone is truly proud of.  Waterside students are involved in every aspect of the production including set design, costumes, and lighting.  Past performances have included Beauty and the Beast, Peter Pan, and Alice and Wonderland.

Summer

The School provides a four-week summer program focusing on fostering lifelong skills including leadership, creativity, problem solving, collaboration, and public speaking.  The program is staffed by Waterside faculty and alumni.  Activities include Arts and Crafts, Drama, Music, Cooking, Book Club, and MakerSpace.  Additionally, the program includes field trips, ranging from the Museum of Natural History to the Bronx Zoo.

The graduating class is offered the opportunity to attend a Transition to Middle School program that is held at Greenwich Country Day School (GCDS).  GCDS, a partner school, sponsors this dynamic summer program, staffed by faculty from both schools and combining rigorus academics with sports, art, and technology.
