Benhur hosted a Q&A session for fifth-grade students as a capstone to their unit of study on the refugee experience. When he was five years old, Benhur and his family walked through the night to flee their home country. After six years in a refugee camp, Benhur and his family were resettled to Bridgeport, Connecticut. Knowing zero English on his first day of school in sixth-grade, Benhur is now at the top of his high school class, taking college-level courses at a nearby community college, and getting excited for the college application process.
