Due to the pandemic and the State’s being unable to administer standardized tests during the 2019-20 academic year, the presented comparative measures are mixed in date but the comparisons still provide stark and accurate measure of the differences in performance. Public school achievement data at the district and state levels show wide achievement gaps between white students and students of color. Waterside students, however, reverse the achievement gap, outperforming the highest performing white youth in Stamford and Connecticut Public Schools. The comparison results indicate that the opportunity of Waterside tremendously increases the likelihood that students of color will be college and career ready.
