Waterside Class of 2006

Andres Soto

Columbia University

  • Andres Soto has always loved numbers and patterns – in fact, he discovered his passion for mathematics as a first grader at Waterside School. But more than sparking his love of learning, Waterside was also the place that reinforced Andres’ belief in himself: “Waterside never let me believe that I couldn’t do something. The School taught me that the world was, is and will always be mine for the taking.”

From Waterside, Andres went on to New Canaan Country School, Rye Country Day School and ultimately Columbia University, from which he graduated Summa Cum Laude. After internships at Bank of America and AOL, Andres was accepted to Google’s selective Engineering Residency Program, where he is now a level 4 Engineer. Fifteen years after his graduation from Waterside, Andres and his family remain deeply committed to the school. He has recently established The Waterside Alumni Support Fund to help provide for graduates in dire need. The Fund will allow him and fellow graduates the opportunity to give back to the School that so generously gave them their foundation.
